Rowdydow was formed in late 2009; much time was spent sourcing the most exciting range of products possible and the website finally launched in the middle of 2010. It's based in sunny Bournemouth, in the colourful and exciting gay district (the office is above a sex shop; classy!). It's run by a tiny team usually consisting of one person, but often with friends helping and part-timers stepping in when Steve wants to go and swan around somewhere else.

Rowdydow sells makeup to help you apply some fashion to your face, add some more personality to your hair and a little bit of bonus-sparkle to your appearance. We scour the world for new and exciting cosmetics, dyes and accessories.

Something that everybody involved in Rowdydow is very passionate about is animal welfare. The first thing we check with any new supplier is their history in regards to testing on animals; we're proud to say that none of our suppliers test on animals. We're also very passionate about vegan cosmetics - you'll find a note on each product telling you if it's vegan, and if it isn't - why not.

Rowdydow was created and continues to be run by Steve Guntrip. He studied photography at university, worked as a developer for several years and now posts colourful pots of hair dye to lovely people.

He can be spotted by his green hair (Manic Panic's Enchanted Forest) and love of wearing tweed jackets. He is often found at the beach, messy house parties and in Bournemouth's gloriously grimey rock club - Sound Circus; vodka and cranberry, please.

Steve has been vegetarian for a very long time and is the driving force behind Rowdydow's passion for animal cruelty free products.

He shares the office and flat in Bournemouth's Triangle with Molotov and Vladimir the rats. They are very silly and like to sit on his shoulder. You can email them at molotov@rowdydow.co.uk and vladimir@rowdydow.co.uk. They reply to all emails... with a little bit of help.

Steve is very passionate about photographic art and all art forms. He often advises other companies on how to create a working online presence.
