Orders are dispatched at 3pm every weekday. If you order before 3pm (even if it's 2:59pm), your order will be sent out the same day. If you order on a weekend your order will be dispatched on Monday. If it is vitally important for your order to go out the same day and it's after 3pm - please send an email to hello@rowdydow.co.uk and we'll see what we can do.
How long will my order take to arrive?Orders made before 3pm are dispatched the same day. In the vast majority of cases, even with Royal Mail First Class, you'll receive it the next day. First Class usually takes up to three days at the very worst. If you choose Royal Mail Special Delivery, you will receive your order the day after it is posted; Royal Mail guarantee this. There are other delivery options too, you can view them on the checkout page.
If you are in a massive hurry and live in or near Bournemouth and Poole, we can arrange for your parcel to be sent out to you same-day and arrive in the evening via friends we have tricked or ourselves driving.
Can I track my order? You can. Rowdydow allows you to track your order every step of the way. However, our turnarounds are usually very quick and everything listed online is in stock - so you'll find the order process tends to go: Order made, order paid, order dispatched. But if you are curious you can enter your order number (on your confirmation email) and your email address (the one you made the order with) on this page: http://www.rowdydow.co.uk/order_tracking/
Can I return my order? Our consumable products can only be returned if they are unopened and unused.
Please note that, with the hair dyes, the colour of the actual dye in the pot is rarely ever the colour of the end result. The colours on the Rowdydow website are a much better representation.
If you've ordered the wrong product or changed your mind, send an email to hello@rowdydow.co.uk and we'll authorize your return and you can send it back. Upon receipt we'll refund your order cost minus postage fees.
If we have made a mistake and your order is incorrect, even if you have opened it, please contact us (again, at hello@rowdydow.co.uk) and we'll refund your order, including postage fees, and send you out the correct product as soon as possible.
The product I want isn't in stock. When will it be back?Popular items are restocked constantly, however, sometimes we will hold off reordering a less popular product until we need a few items from a single supplier (this is how we keep our prices low). Without contacting us, it could be up to and possibly over a month for an item like this to reappear. However - if you want a product that is out of stock, PLEASE contact us as we're always happy to make exceptions for a customer request.
How do I apply my hair dye or bleach? All of our dyes and bleach kits come with instructions. However - you can read a Rowdydow-written guide on these questions here: http://www.rowdydow.co.uk/advice/
Are all the products vegan? At the moment the vast majority of our products are vegan. All products that are not vegan are clearly marked with what ingredients are not vegan (pink box above the ingredients). The only reason we have a few non-vegan products is because some of our suppliers will mark a product containing beeswax or carmine (made from crushed cochineal beetles) as vegan, whilst we at Rowdydow do not feel that meets the requirements of all vegans. We are sourcing replacements for these products and making our suppliers aware in the hope that they will stop using these ingredients.
If I don't use the entire pot of dye, can I save some for later? In most cases, yes. Make sure the lid is back on and you should find the dye is fine the next time you need to re-colour your hair. It won't last for ever, and we've found that after a few months things can get a bit goopy - but certainly don't throw it away!
How can I keep my colour vibrant for longer? We'll soon be writing a big article on this subject, but for now we'll explain the basics :-
Heat is the enemy. In the same way that heat when you dye or bleach your hair opens up your hair follicles and allows the product to work, when you wash your hair with hot water or blow-dry it to death - you're opening your follicles again and allowing the colour to leave.
Try washing your hair with lute-warm water and using product tailored to coloured hair (we stock the fantastic Directions conditioner and shampoos).
When initially dying your hair, sit under a blow-dryer for a few minutes with the dye on as part of your routine and don't rinse out the dye with hot water. Some people swear by running some white vinegar over their hair just before they rinse the dye out - it's smelly, but we've tried this and it actually seemed to work.
It's true that sunlight fades your hair, but don't stay inside or wear a hat - let people see your colour!
How can I remove the dye from my hands/face/neck/ears/legs/etc?The only 100% perfect answer is good preparation before you dye; Vaseline, gloves, long sleeved top you don't like very much (designate it your hair dye top - it'll get pretty, really quickly).
If you haven't done this, or you've itched your Vaseline away or your gloves have filled with dye there are a few things you can do :-
First of all, a lot of guides online will recommend using more dye to clear up. This doesn't seem to work at all with vegetable dyes (what we sell) so please don't try it. You'll just increase the size of the stain.
There are professional products just for this, we choose not to stock them as they have the possibility of being quite dangerous if used incorrectly. If you know a friendly hair stylist and you're in a panic, it might be good to ask for their help.
A very good tip is, horrid as it sounds, cigarette ash and shampoo mixed together. Get a cotton bud or fluffy-ball, dip it in, and scrub away.
Another idea, and one we tend to use the most, is to just have a nice long bath. It's certainly the most pleasant solution. The water will indeed take on your new colour in a very big way (a bit worrying if you've just dyed your hair red) but this water will not stain your skin. Just fill your bath with lots of nice bubble bath and keep the offending limbs in the water. It might not get rid of it entirely but it should fade it. This method, for some reason we can't explain, works fantastically well for ears.
What are the ingredients?Below the main photograph of a product, on its product page, there is a little pink box with the number of ingredients. Click on the "Show Ingredients" link and the box will expand showing you every listed ingredient. It was unpleasant to type all of these up, for every product, so I hope you will find them useful!
Are the products cruelty free?Yes. Every last one. One of the first things we check with a new supplier is their history in regards to animal cruelty and testing on animals. We're proud to say that every one of our suppliers are absolutely opposed to animal testing and animal cruelty; they're run by the same kind of people that run this website.
I make a cool product. Will you stock it?We'd love to hear from you! The product range on Rowdydow is very carefully selected, but if you feel that your product will fit in well - please contact us. Email hello@rowdydow.co.uk.
We might ask for a sample to have a look, but if we like a product we will buy it from you, hold it in stock and make a big fuss of you at the same time!
I have a question not answered here.If that's the case, please get in contact. You can phone 01202 463997 or email hello@rowdydow.co.uk - we'll reply very quickly!
